Happy Independence day everyone! A great blog that I follow is called The Humble Libertarian they have a great post today on Independence Day.
The cynic in me wonders what we're even celebrating, when the government we now have is in many ways immeasurably more intrusive and tyrannical than the one we fought to gain our independence from so many generations ago.
But we can still celebrate what was the beginning of the most productive and successful social experiment in human history. Even as its enemies fight fiercely to dismantle and destroy it, to enslave its members and to exploit its productivity, the American way of life has produced human flourishing at a level that people of ages past would have considered other-worldly.
